A bit of sort-of sad news

Hi blogworld,

Well here I am again, on an unexpected day with an unexpected post.

The sort-of sad news is that, for now, this the last challenge over at Moving Along with The Times - it should be Team A's turn, but Hazel said anyone who wants to can join in - hence this post and card.

The better news is that it's not the end altogether, just that we are having a break for a few months and will be back on the 3rd October. This hopefully, will give the Teams a chance to re-charge batteries and find lost Mojo's then we will be back raring to go!!

So for this last challenge we have a 'just for fun' challenge and a lovely easy sketch from Hazel to work with.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card, as you can see I've rotated the sketch:

Front shot:

The close-up, hmmmm I didn't get the blending so good on this one did I!,:

I used:

Digi Image:
DigiStamp Boutique - Rosie Collection 1
coloured with my ProMarkers

Dies:
Memory Box - Simple

Papers:
I'm not sure - they were very kindly given to me a long time ago

Anything else?
Craftwork Cards - sentiment circle
chipboard number
Stickles glitter glue

So with the spring / summer holiday that MAWTT is taking I'm light on the old DT posts at the mo - maybe the lack of pressure will help me find my lost Mojo - I hope so!

On the building front some slightly hopeful news - the builder is meeting here with the Building Inspector on Friday.  Hoping it helps the builder sort out any misgivings he has and hopefully we are back on track with building works.

I don't know if I've said as well that we've put in a second planning application for alterations to the garages. If that gets permission it will give hubby a very large hobby room over our two garages.  Hmmm, in that case he won't need the new room over the new kitchen.  A new bedroom then methinks - but who gets it!!!

So here's hoping you pop on over to MAWTT join in with our last challenge and I'll be back with my MAWTT hat on in October.

See you again soon,
Sarah

Still a cutie!

Good morning blogworld,

And how is everyone this fine Bank Holiday morning?  All well I hope.

Well I bet you weren't expecting to see me here today, were you!  Seeing as how all the building works aren't happening, I asked and was accepted back into the fold over at The Cutie Pies.  The lovely Woo has said that she doesn't mind me joining back in again, so that's just what I'm doing - joining in.

And with that here is my DT post for the new challenge.  For this fortnight the theme is

'1,2,3 a recipe'.
So 1 of something, 2 of something and (yes you guessed it!) 3 of something.

Our Sponsor this time, with a $10 voucher, is the wonderful:

And this is my card, where the 1 is the image, 2 are the embellishments (lace and Pearl Pen) and 3 are the papers.

Lace and Pearl Pen from my stuff

There you go my return to The Cuties Pies is complete - in one way I hope the builder doesn't turn up soon, then I can carry on joining in!  Hope to see you over at The Cuties - it's a lovely recipe.

Sarah

PS - I went to a craft fair in Lincoln yesterday and met up with two fabby bloggy friends - what a lovely change it was go to a craft fair where the people I went with wanted to be there!!  And it was lovely to finally meet Abi and Catherine in the flesh - next time I will make sure SHMbO has a longer time for a picnic and I can spend more time with you!

A challenge, maybe?

And again!

Hello blogworld,

Me again - getting to be quite like old times, isn't it ;-)

So this post is my DT card for the new challenge over at Moving along with the Times, it's the lovely Red's turn to host the challenge and this week the challenge she has chosen is 'Embossing' which can be either dry or wet embossing.

Our sponsor this week, with a lovely prize, is:

So this the card I came up with - I did toy with getting my heat gun and embossing powders out, but they are buried somewhere in a box somewhere in the dining / craft room and so I just played it safe and got out one of my favourite embossing folders.

Front shot:

The close up:

The Arty Farty shot:

 I used:

Stamp:
Funky Kits - Simply Sassy: Luv a Latte
coloured with Promarkers and Copics

Dies:
Nesties - oval and scalloped oval

Papers:
The stripy background is freebie from Bearly Mine
Flowery paper - no idea, it's the final scrap from a very old 12x12

Anything else?
Dots and stripes embossing folder (not sure who by, another case of a lost packet!)
Craftwork Cards - sentiment
paper trims and heart - from my stuff

Thanks for popping by the old blogeroo and I do hope you go take a peek at my Teamies fab creations.

See you soon,
Sarah

Finally, I got back to join in a challenge, or two?,

The Sugar Bowl: Challenge 103 - May 2013

I love Promarkers: Anything Goes - I have used Copics for the pink, but everything else is Promakers.  Hope this is OK?  Please feel free to delete if not.

Aha - fooled you!

Hi blogworld

I bet you thought it was Thursday again didn't you seeing as how I've been posting weekly (or less) recently. But nope - it is 'only' Tuesday and I've posted twice in one week - how good am I??

So how are things going for y'all then?  We've had a marvellous sighting here - the lesser spotted builder :-)  Unfortunately it was only a limited sighting - he appeared on Saturday and disappeared again very quickly!!  Seriously though, it's all a bit long winded, he's now gone away with the plans and promises that he can lay his hand on a chap who can come out to start the job, probably!!  I think I'm just going to stick my head in the sand and be grateful if I get a craft room and new kitchen by this time next year!!!

So in the meantime I'm racking up the old card-making pressure - I've got a couple on the go and one I made earlier, and by earlier I mean earlier I coloured the skin agggges ago.  Was practising and then didn't get round to finishing her off until now.

 Side shot:

The Arty Farty close up:

I used:

Digi image:
Some Odd Girl - Angel Kaylee
Sentiment - Fiskars set

Dies:
Nesties

Papers:
Cosmo Cricket - Togetherness

Anything else?
Create and Craft - Gem Flourish
Stickles glue

So whaddya think then?  I think my 'style' if you can say I've got a style - is changing a bit.  I haven't added full on flowers to anything for ages - maybe I should try that next!!

So there we go folks - I hopes to be blogging regularly again now and not builder angst either, I'm doing an Emu on that one!

Now I'm going to see if I can find a challenge or two - it's been even more aggggesss since I regularly joined in with anything.

Hope everyone in blogland is good too,
Cheerio
Sarah

PS - I think I've found a challenge this fits - Some Odd Girl Blog: May challenge.  Ladies - I've only just stumbled on this challenge and think I've got the sketch right.  Feel free to delete me if I'm too far off piste for you ;-)

Deep breath and cross everything

Hello blogworld,

Well here I am - and a decision made.

No builder still and I've no idea when we will see him, hubby is still not inclined to harass him, so we are in limbo land.

Seeing as I'm sitting around twiddling my thumbs I've decided to try and pick up the crafting pace.  So I have a card to show!!!

Now a very large reason for this card is because Paula from Pollycraft is back!!  Ooooh I love her digis and she's re-starting her challenge blog and looking for a DT.  Well, in spite of the lack of blogging and absent Mojo I've decided to throw my hat in the ring.

I'm going to do it, even though I've no hope of getting on the team, as I know if I don't I'll be forever kicking myself for not even trying.  I remember a DT call happening just after I started blogging and I didn't apply - well I'm doing it this time!!

So a card - after nothing for so long, it was a bit of long process and not a lot to show for it!  I honestly didn't know what to put where, so I opted for the less is better look!!  It's also, possibly, if SHMbO likes it, going to be for hubby's fathers' day card - so I didn't want it full of flowers and frills.

Here it is:
Front shot:

The Arty Farty:

His Close Up:

I used:

Digi image:
Pollycraft - Maurice: Daddy 'cool'
(sorry it's not in the shop as it's an ages old image - possibly even a freebie?)
coloured with my Promarkers
Sentiment - Fiskars

Dies:
Nestie

Papers:
echo park - Note to self

Anything else?
Bakers twine
charm
3d gloss
Stickles glitter glue

So I'm crossing fingers, toes and anything hoping that I might get on the DT.  Even if I don't I'm happy that I tried and it might be the kick start to Mr Mojo.

Here's hoping that I see you more regularly!

Sarah

A challenge,  or two, (ages since I did this!):

I love Promarkers: Challenge #168 - Simply does it

Cupcake Craft Challenges: Cupcake 242 - Lots of Layers

My Mum's Craft Shop: Challenge 5 - Spots or Stripes (I hope the spots on his tie is enough to qualify??)

My turn, and I pick....

Good morning blogworld,

Can you believe it's been a week since I posted last - bet you all think I've been up to my eyes in building works?  Well, nope!

Let's get the fun done first and then I'll do the moan!  So this is my post for the new challenge over at MAWTT and it's my turn to pick the theme.  Oooh there were nerves when I wrote the post for the challenge!!

So lets get down to the details - my theme is CaS - Clean and Simple.  There are loads of  options - you can still do cute, characters, colours, or whatever is your bag - it just needs to be simple.  If you're not familiar with the style, pop it into Google and you'll find some lovely examples.

Our sponsor this week, with a fab prize, is:

I actually, after a lot of digging in stamps and thinking, made two cards.  I think the first is my favourite, so that is the one up on the blog - but I've popped both here, any comments or criticism welcome - really!

This is my first one:

I used:

Dies:
Memory Box ( I used the negative space after the die was cut out)

Stamp:
A very, very, old sentiment

Anything else?
HobbyHouse - pearls
And here is the second:

Front shot:

Close up:

I used:

Stamp:
Inkadinkado

Anything else?
Scoring board
HobbyHouse - pearl

And that's it folks!  Hope you like them and please come along and join in with the challenge.  I do hope I get a few entries for my theme!!

So the whinging - well guess who never turned up to start work on the house two weeks ago?  Oh yes, the builder!!  Peter rang him and he said he was snowed under with other work but should have someone out last week - hmmmm, well still no-one last week either!  I'd be happy to ditch him and try somewhere else, but Peter thinks we should give him another chance.  So now we wait to see what happens this week.

The house should be full off brick dust, with the roof off, walls coming down and going up - nope instead it's deathly quiet!!

Add to that my Mojo is still on his jollies and you get one very quiet Sarah.  I even turned to baking last week, you know how you do something else to try and kick start whatever it was that you want to work in the first place?

Ach well, I've been here before and come out the other side.  Maybe once things actually start moving on the building I'll be better - who knows?

Until then, I'll say cheerio folks and see you soon.

Sarah

Anyone feeling punchy?

Goodness me three posts in three days, just a sec' let me check here - is this still my blog?  Hmm, yep there's the waffle - so it's got to be!

Good morning blogworld,

~ Well yes three posts in three days, but only two cards.  Swings and roundabouts, eh, swings and roundabouts.

So this is the more card, less waffle, post.  It's the first of the month and that means a new challenge over at FlatFriends and this time we'd like to see you using, along with your Emma Canning digi, your punches.

Has to be said, since I got the Cuttlebug my poor punches have been pretty much neglected.  So I blew the dust off them and here you go this is my card:

Front Shot:

Anything else?
Gems from my stuff

Blogworld - you definitely need to go check out the FlatFriends blog, not only is this freebie there you can get lots of other total cuteness too.  Then you could do like me and go dig out your punches to join in.

There are also lots of totally cute inspiration from my teamies as well - so go on, go on, go on, go join in!

Cheerio

Sarah

PS - Please ignore the wonky stitching - I'm still getting to grips with the sewing machine.  Also, now hold onto your hats here, I might even venture into the world of proper sewing - hubby says it wouldn't be toooo difficult to make SHMbO a top or dress.  Hmmmm, I've looked at patterns and I'm not sure!
