Hi blogworld,

Well this one took a while to work out!  It's Thursday which means a new challenge over at Moving Along With The Times, our Teamie Sue picked the theme of 'No Design Papers'.  Arrrggghhh!!!  How can I cope without my PP's??  I did it but I'm not over pleased with how this one came out - it doesn't look like it did in my head, but I'm there!

Here you go - see what you think.

Being a Diva!

Good morning blogworld,

Thankfully 'the big storm' completely bypassed us - might have been a bit breezier than normal but apart from that no problems here.  Nothing like I remember from when I was at college many, many, many years ago!!  Although, obviously, you've got to feel for those who were affected, especially those who have lost loved ones.

Moving onto happier thoughts and today's card.  Which is for Digi Choosday at Polkadoodles and we are looking for those projects for a 'Fashion Diva'.  There was a fab response to our first challenge and I'm not surprised with all the marvellous creations my Teamies made.  No exception this week either - you should see their really amazing creations.

This is what I made:

Front shot:

Slightly skew-wiffy shot:

 I used:

Digi Image:
Emma Canning - Prom Day
coloured with my ProMarkers

Dies:
Nesties - scallops
Marianne - umbrella

Digi papers:
Sugar Boys
Heart to Heart

Anything else?
Wild Orchid Crafts - flowers
from my stuff - lace and chipboard sentiment.

Something different for me, eh!  Next time I make a round card though, I will try to get it to sit straight!!

Do try and pop over to the challenge - would be lovely to see you there.

See you soon,
Sarah

TotallyPaperCrafts: Challenge #190 - No squares allowed

Crafty Sentiments Designs: Anything Goes

Cute bingo!

Hi blogworld,

Hopefully when this appears our house won't have been blown away by the wind (I'm scheduling this Sunday evening); SWMbO has gone to school; the plasterer is here and I'm getting a bit of crafty me time!

Let's hope!!

Anyway onto the point of this post - it's new challenge time over at The Cutie Pies and we've got a bingo board for you this fortnight.  Just please remember the one essential thing, if you want to play at the cuties - your makes' got to be cute!

So the bingo board:

Our sponsor this fortnight is Crafty Ribbons with a £10 prize for the lucky winner!

My card - which runs across the middle row (buttons, ribbon and die cut):

Bit of self-indulgence here and am showing you my SWMbO's image, coloured by her own fair hand!  Not bad for 6 and a half eh!

Righty-ho am off now - but am looking : to seeing all your entries into the challenge.

Sarah

Phew what a week!

Hi blogland

Apologies for abandoning you all this week but, as always, when it's school holidays SWMbO's social life sky rockets and I don't get any time for blogging or even crafting really!

I did manage to get two DT cards done for early next week but had to be a bad mother and dump her in front of the telly to do it!!

She's been to two birthday parties, did a reading at Church, went waterwalking at a local swimming pool, spent a day round a friends house, been to a Halloween party, had a friend over for dinner.  Pause and deep breath!  Then she had her swimming lesson and we had the house invaded by bats!!  Oh and had to take her best friend to hospital as they thought he'd broken a finger whilst at one of these parties - thankfully just a bad sprain not a break.  Phew!

Will be nice and quiet again next week (assuming we get out of the house on Monday to get her to school - sounds like there's quite a storm on the way) so I will be back to blogging and crafting.

Anyway - waffle, waffle, and no cards.  So I thought I'd show you how we've got on with the new bedroom, oh yes we've been pushing on with that too!

Plasterer is due tomorrow and we are actually ready for him - yay!

There you go - life chez Sarah!

See you all tomorrow.

It's here!

Good morning blogworld,

Well today, on my blog at least, shall henceforth be known as Digi Choosday!  For that is what it is over at Polkadoodles.

It's the first ever challenge for the new digi challenge team.  Our first theme is a super easy one 'Anything Goes' and the winner will receive 3 digital downloads.  There's also the chance to be a Guest Designer on a future challenge!!

On top of all this to celebrate there is a massive 40% off in the Digistore until Saturday - all the details can be found on the blog.

Phew!  Now then lets see the card!

Just a front shot for this one!  Told you I was a bit short on time this week.

I used:

Digi Stamp:
Emma Canning FlatFriends - To Die For
coloured with my ProMarkers

Digi Papers:

Sentiment:

Dies:
Nesties - for the ovals
Memory Box - for the flourish

Anything else?
Lace from my stash

That maybe all you see from me this week - told you I'd be busy with half-term holidays.  Tho you never know, if I get any free time, I'll be back.  Otherwise I'm back next week.

See you later,
Sarah

building update

Hello blogworld

Well I did say you wouldn't see me much this week - busy social life dont'ya know!!  Well, SHMbO has anyway!!

But so as you don't feel completely ignored, I thought I'd show you some pics of how the extension to the house is coming on.

Outside, apart from painting it, is done.  I know it looks a bit grim, it was supposed to be coloured render that didn't need painting - but it didn't work out!  So now we have to wait for the spring and good weather to paint it.

Inside the new room is getting there.  The Building Regulations man said it all has to be insulated, hence the spaceship look!  Not bad though hubby is doing all this himself (well with a little help from me and SWMbO), but we'll get a plasterer in to skim it - hubby might be good with a drill but he can't plaster!!

But my new kitchen will be a store room for a few months yet.  Since we got the planning approval on the garages, that's going to take priority.  Ho hum, maybe next year for new kitchen and craft room??

See's ya tomorrow with my card for the new Digi Choosday challenge!

Noooooo

I'm doing this post with my eyes shut as I refuse to have anything to do with Christmas this early!

Good morning blogworld,

It's a new challenge over at Moving Along with the Times and this week we want to see (look away now) your 'Christmas Cuties' creations.

Nooooooo - it's not Christmas yet, that's months away, isn't it??  Well it is for me - and it will be for at least two months yet.

Anyway, aren't I doing good typing with my eyes shut!, here's the card:

Front shot:

His close up (trying to show the glitter on his hat, only succeeding in showing how I got chalk on his hat instead!):

I used:

Digi stamp:
Pollycraft - Maurice Christmas socks
(but you'll never find it it was a freebie three? years ago)
Am sooo sooo sooo sad that Paula is shutting up shop again - I will miss Pollycraft - but there are bargains to be had!
coloured with me Promarkers and background chalked.

Dies:
Go Kreate
Die-namics - for the border

Papers:
Bo Bunny (probably - I will check)

Anything else?
Twine and chipboard deer - from my stuff.

So who else fancies making a Christmas Cutie then?  You know you want to, don't you!!  Come join us over at MAWTT and feel Christmassy - you'll make me feel better ;-)

Sarah

PS - You might not see me much next week, it's half-term already and SHMbO is off which seriously cuts into my crafting time.  Back to normal the week after.

It's all grey...

and a little simple!

Hello blogworld

Well it's three things that are grey - one is the weather (raining again!), two is the challenge over at the Graph 'It pens challenge blog and three is this card.

I've never made a 'greys' only challenge before and was intrigued.  This is what I came up with - and it's where the simple bit comes in!

Front shot:

The arty farty:

I used:

Digi stamp:
Some Odd Girl - Bicycle Kaylee
coloured with my ProMarkers
(warm greys, cool greys, ice greys and blue greys)
Sentiment - from a very old stamp set

Dies:
Spellbinders - border die

Anything else?
Twine and some pearl hearts

Ha and I wonder how many of you thought I was going to say it 'twas me that was simple!!!

See you soon,

Sarah

We're Tag-tastic!!!

Good morning blogworld!

Here's hoping that we find you fit and well this lovely Monday morning!  And I say 'lovely' in a tongue in cheek way - if the weather today  is anything like the weekend was I will currently be being almost blown over in the gales and soaked to the skin due to the rain whilst dropping SHMbO off at school!

I think the best thing about this particular Monday is that there is a new challenge over at The Cutie Pies and this fortnight we'd like to see your projects with 'Tags' on them.  This could be a tag itself, a tag on / in a card, a tag on a scrapbook page - there just needs to be a tag there somewhere.  Oh and the most important thing - to make it super cute!

Our sponsor this fortnight is:

Our challenge is sponsored by the wonderful

and one lucky winner will win a gift certificate for their gorgeous online store.

And my project, well yes, you guessed it - it's a tag!!

Front shot:

The close up:

I used:

Digi stamp:
coloured with ProMarkers and Copics
Sentiment - Lily of The Valley

Dies:
Go Kreate

Papers:
Basic Grey - but I'm not sure which pad, as they were scraps.

Anything else?
Wild Orchid Crafts - flower
Hobby House - pearls and lace

And that's it folks!  But please pop on over to the blog and show us your cuteness, go on - you know you want too!!!

See you soon,

Sarah

Ombre?

Hi Blogworld

Since discovering the Some Odd Girl digi stamps and that they have a monthly challenge, I've been trying to take part.  I've not always managed it and that's normally because of time - but this month I almost didn't manage it because I had no clue what the October challenge theme was!!

I'm obviously getting very old and very little country mouse-y as I'd never heard of the 'ombre' trend!  Some very kind ladies over at Some Odd World had to explain it to me and I'm still not sure that I've actually got the theme.

But hey-ho, this is actually one card that I (mostly) enjoyed making.  I enjoyed the colouring part of it, the finished card doesn't look exactly as I had imagined - but that's because I had a quick change of paper.

So here's what I ended up with:

The front shot:

The close up:

I used:

Digi Stamp:
Some Odd Girl - Witchy Mae
coloured with my Promarkers

Papers:
Echo Park - Chillingsworth Manor

Dies:
Memory Box - Picket Fence

Anything else?
stars from my stuff

See you soon,

Sarah

A challenge or two:

Some Odd Girl - Ombre

Without Words - October challenge: Pumpkins

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 204: Anything goes with stars

Graph 'It - Boo!... Halloween's a Scream!

Facebook

Hi blogworld,

Thought I'd let you know - in case anyone is interested! - that I have just shut my FaceBook account down.

In some ways I feel it's a shame, altho I didn't understand much about FaceBook I did like keeping up to date with stamp / digi stamp companies.

I'd always had privacy worries with FaceBook but thought I'd worked it out - seems not!  So down goes the FaceBook page.

Will be back with a card soon,

Sarah

What a 'mare!!

Hi blogworld,

Well just as I decide that I'm going to get back into cards and blogging - the internet goes and disappears on us!  Not only the internet but the phone as well!!

What a quiet couple of days we've had - just goes to show how much I rely on the internet to waste my time :-)  Instead I read a bit more, paid a bit more attention to my Emily and actually talked to hubby - shock horror!!!

Of course hubby was completely lost without the 'net - he had to actually get on with something!!!

Anyway we're back now and I'm here, although belatedly, with my post for the new Moving Along With the Times challenge - we've all had a long summer break and are now back, refreshed for our challenges.  We've lost a few Teamies along the way, but had some new people join us - so why not pop on over to the blog and have a lookse - we've also got a very easy challenge this time: it's 'Anything Goes'.

So here is my card:

Front shot:

The close up:

The Arty Farty shot:

Hmmm, I'm trying pleats again - tho I don't think with a huge amount of success!!

I used:

Digi stamp:
Pollycraft - Lil' Dumplings - Fleur
coloured with my Promarkers

Papers:
First Edition - Blank Canvas and J'Adore

Dies:
Nesties
Die-namics - for the corners
Memory Box - for the fancy edge

Anything else?
Chipboard embellishments from my stuff

Would love to see you over at MAWTT!

Sarah

A challenge or two:

Pollycraft - Challenge 8: Birthday Girls

I love Promarkers: Challenge 188 - Songs.  Now I was thinking I'd go with I wish I was punk rocker with flowers in my hair by Sandi Thom but while I was looking for a clip to link up with I found this little song (The Lumineers - Flowers in Your hair) and I thought is was a beautiful song!  So I hope I'm not breaking rules by saying either song please ;-)

Inky Chicks: Challenge #14 - use two different die-cuts.

PS - We grew pumpkins for the first time this year - look at what we got! Don't know if they're completely ripe but they fell off the plants, not picked, so down to the house they came. Now any recipes for pumpkins, anyone???  All suggestions gratefully received.

Pinch, punch, 1st of the month!

Hello blogworld,

And how are we all on this fine October morning - now then wait a minute, October???  Where's September gorne then, or come to that where did the summer go??

Anyway enough joshing, I should really get on to business.

This is something I've not done for ages, but I'm here with my DT inspiration for the new challenge over at Flat Friends Challenge.  I would like to say thank you right now to the wonderful Emma, who is the power behind Flat Friends, for bearing with me over the last few months while I've ducked out of DT duties.

That's all over now though and I'm back!  So lets get on with it then.

This month's challenge is a fabulous inspiration picture:

Our only requirement is that you use a Flat Friends image, but there are lots and they are all lovely - so not a hardship there!!

And here is my card:

Front Shot:
