Tres boy-ey

Hello blogworld

I'm back again - such a regular poster, eh!  Won't be the same next week with it being half-term, altho I do have three cards to make before the end of the week - 2 children's cards and an adults.  You will see me, just not every day.

This card was the one I was rushing to finish for the birthday party we were invited to today.  It was at a local soft play area, and Emily loved it!!  It's strange how times change isn't it, when we first went to soft play I couldn't leave her, now she won't have me any where near her.

Oooh, and me talking about her sleeping habits has jinxed it well and truly - she was up at 6am yesterday and 4.30 this morning!  So I'm a walking zombie at the moment, a zombie rather stuffed with pizza, chips, potato wedges, fizzy drink and chocolate cake!!  Well what do you expect when you go to a kids party that is over lunch and the place has a restaurant?  I rolled out of there quite happy ;-)

Anyway, waffle over - here's me card:

Detail shot of image:

By the way, I'm using photo editing as recommended by Vicky and Rebekah - it's all new to me and am playing around with it - so please excuse if the pictures don't look perfect.  I will be practising a lot with it I'm sure.

And, while I'm at it, do you mind if I ask something?  This is for those of you who use Promarkers - do you find your colour better with some colours than others?  I ask as I'm practising my colouring lots (really trying to improve it) and am finding that I'm doing well with some colours (blues, greens, browns, even greys) but other colours are dreadful and just look so unblended (is that a word?) can I put that down to me not having all the shades yet - or is there a trick I'm missing?

Card details:
Image is from Pollycrafts - Enchant and Explore set; Wizard, coloured with my Promarkers and a touch of (hold your breath, wait for it!) Stickles!!  and 3d gloss on the ball.
Die-cut with a nestie, chalked while in the die for definition.
The papers are a mixture of Papermania, DCWV and First Edition (Up, Up and Away - did I say these were my new love?!).
This time I mounted them on mirri card, haven't done that for years - it was done on the advice of darling daughter, she insisted her friend would love the sparkle!!!
Sentiment from Lili of the Valley, die cut with a nestie and I made the card blank.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and 'see' you soon!

Sarah

stunning card sarah.i love the gorgeous image and colours.
i use paint.net to crop my pics and resize but find i don`t need to autofix since i started using the daylight lamp.
regarding the promarkers.i do think some colours are harder to blend than other but i think thats down to the fact that there isn`t enough choices in some of the colours like the pinks and yellows.
i tend to use 4 to 5 of the same colour pallete to get my shading how i want it.if i need a bit more light in my shading i add a little touch of white gel pen and quickly blend it out with my finger :D

xx coops xx

Hi Sarah, thanks for your lovely message. I am just so glad that my blog is back to normal.

I know exactly how you feel after going to a kids party that is over lunch. I just had the same experience this Saturday too! ^_^

Sorry can't really help with your Promarker question as I use Copic. But I love the way you coloured the hat and gown. Nice birthday card! Just saw people suggesting white balance, that is the first thing I do with all my photos.

That is a sweet image! Best of luck with the software, I am not anyone's software friend, so can't help you there except to wish you good luck! And if you try the pincushion and run into a jam (pun intended) let me know, can't wait to see what you might create!
