Now it's Thursday but it should be Wednesday

Hello blogworld

This is going to be awkward to type - I have a cat laying over one hand and he really doesn't want my hand to be moving!  At this precise moment he is purrring and squinting at me trying to make me stop moving!

Hope you are all well?  You find me today with quite bad backache and feeling in a bit of funk!  My New Year exercise regime has gone to pot, I'm sitting here eating choc biccies (so there goes the diet) and I have been surfing looking at people's cards and am feeling quite inadequate.  I don't know how many people say on their blogs "and I've been making cards now for 5 (or 3 or 2) years" and their cards are exquisite - I've been cardmaking for more years than I care to remember and mine are still only adequate.  Pah!

Maybe tomorrow I'll be feeling happier with myself but for now I'm going to share the card and go away before I get really fed up.

But before I go, I should also say that I'm joining in with Lisa and her Waste Not Wednesdays - another stamp inked for the first time, when I've had it for a couple of years.  More blue funk warning.

So card:

And close up of image:
How strange, on the first picture the paper looks yellow but in the second pink, it is actually pink!

I used:

Lili of the Valley stamp: Baby Christening, coloured with my Promarkers and Flexmarkers.
Die cut and mounted with nesties.
Paper is from my large pile of pieces - so I've no idea whose it is.
The ribbon (which was originally white, I coloured with my Promarker to tie in with the colours), buttons and little stamp are from my large amount of stash.

I'm off now before I depress everyone else as well.

See you tomorrow.

Sarah

Hi Sarah, love this card its beautiful. I definitely wouldn't describe it as adequate. Thanks for your comment on my card. Yes it is one of the images I won, I took your advice and went for Rainy Day. The other one I chose was Christmas Nutcracker. I think I will probably buy a few more though when finances allow. Oh I have backache too. I am sitting here with lappy on my knee leaning back against an electric heat pad. Debs xx

You are so NOT inadequate at all young lady!!! Consider yourself told lol! This card is gorgeous! Everyone has different styles and diff looks it doesn't make 1 person better than another! I should prob take my own advice as I often judge myself too harshly against others! I'm looking at the lovely card now you sent me for my birthday and it is great! I spend far too much time than I care to be honest about (and hubby would agree) on scrutinising other cards blogs etc so I can make my cards better and to be honest I have no idea why! Nothing beats a handmade card and yours are no exception. I also love the fact that you have been getting Debs (above) hooked on SC images too lol! Krista will rule the world one day!
Hugs Rebekah xx

Sarah you are being far too hard on yourself. I think your cards are great, your colouring is fab. I have been making cards for years and years and I still make crap ones! You shouldn't compare your cards with others because we all have different styles. Don't worry about the choc biccies that you have eaten, just don't have any more and then you wont have ruined your diet.
Hugs,
Sarah-Jane xx

Sarah, your cards are always gorgeous and I love looking through you blog. Don't be so hard on yourself hun. And don't forget that everyone falls off the exercise wagon and the diet one as well!!! Hey choc biccies were put there to eat not just to sit in a jar. i'm dreading the scales on Monday night, I had pizza hut yesterday. See it happens to us all. Chin up hun, tomorrow is another day. xx

I popped over from Lisa's blog to say hello to someone else on a quest to ink up unused stamps! Sorry that you are feeling down but I think (as do many others above!) that you are very talented. Looking back at earlier posts on your blog as well as this one, I think your work is really inspiring. I hope you are feeling a bit brighter today and are encouraged by what everyone thinks. Sometimes we are our own worst critics!

Sarah Hunny you are (you will be relieved to know) completely normal! Everyone has days like this and what you have had to endure makes you the wonderful person you are today, you came through it! You must be a lot stronger than you think!!!
Your cards are gorgeous, your colouring, your eye for colour - everything.
The way I look at it is we all found crafting at a time in our life when we needed it, in my case it was on the back of my depression, I'm still on my medication but I'm a lot better than I was!
You take care, hugs Laurie xx

Oh Sarah, sorry to hear you are feeling low and you really must not be so hard on your self with your cards, you have lots of talent I always love visiting your blog to read your posts and see your gorgeous cards and wishing mine could look half as good as yours and I'm not just saying that...I rarley am happy with mine and often think about giving it all up.
Take care Wendy xx

Hi hun, this is absolutely gorgeous, as all of your cards are, I think all creative types are inclined to look at their own work and dislike the tiny details that they feel are not quite perfect. Try not to let it get you down it's always far easier to like other peoples work as you don't focus on thee negative. I hope you feel better.
