No image!

Good morning blogworld,

Apologies for the lateness of this post - with SWMbO off on school hols I'm all turned about with what day it is and completely forgot that today is Thursday.

So as I now know it is Thursday I also know it's a new challenge over at MAWTT and our lovely Teamie Carole is the hostess this week.  She's chosen the theme of 'No Image' - instead the focal point should be a sentiment or flowers.

I went for sentiment as my focus but, as the card was made in a rush the other evening, I'm not over pleased with it.  It did feel very odd not colouring anything but it was a very quick make and I think when I have more time I'll have a go at this again.

So here's the card, I've no idea why it looks so wonky - it's not in real life:

I used:

Papers:
Papermania - Birthday papers and sentiment

Dies:
Die-namics - Open Scallop & Stacking Stars

And that's it folks.

I've nothing else to post for the rest of this week and can't see me having time to blog before SHMbO goes back to school on Monday.  So I'll wish you all a good rest of week and weekend and I'll see you next week sometime.

Final post with Papertake Weekly

Good afternoon blogworld,

Another busy day in the house of Sarah - so I'm not going to waffle on at you (not least because this should have gone live earlier today and I forgot!).

My Guest Design Team spot over at Papertake Weekly comes to an end today - it's been an enjoyable few months, and Sharon has been incredibly kind about my cards!  It has though shown me one thing - that I really don't have time to be on a weekly DT!  Life is always so hectic that trying to create and comment (for the challenge and for me) just doesn't work!

So we finish my term on a Sketchie Free For All challenge - there is another fab prize and great inspiration from the Team as always.

I picked an older sketch to work from (sketch No 68) :

And created this:

I used:

Digi Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Love my pets
coloured with my Copics

Papers:
echo park - Be Mine

Dies:
Joanna Sheen - banner

Anything else?
Craftwork Cards - sentiment
ribbon.

And that's all folks!

See you soon,
Sarah

Embossed

Good morning blogland

Going to short change you with the waffle again this week - we have another half-term holiday and I'm looking at a very busy week outside of blogworld.

So onto business - it's Monday and a new challenge over at The Cutie Pies which this fortnight is Emboss it! Which would be, along with your cutest image, either dry or wet embossing.

Our challenge is sponsored by the wonderful
 http://craftysentimentsdesigns.co.uk/

who are sponsoring us for the very first time, and we are delighted to be working with them! Crafty Sentiments are offering a wonderful prize of three digi stamps of the winners choice.....so thank you to them!

I did try heat embossing, but the stamp and powders weren't playing ball - so I got my trusty Cuttlebug out and used a favourite embossing folder.  Our sponsors this time very kindly allowed us to pick digi stamps and this is what I made with mine:

Front shot:

Close up of image:

I used:

Digi stamp:
Crafty Sentiments - Henry - why not?
coloured with my Copics
Background stamp - Woodware

Papers:
Basic Grey - archaic

Dies:
Go-kreate - tag
Die-namics - stacking stars

Anything else?
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Twine

Am having to run now - there's an argument erupting in the kitchen and I also want to get to my exercise class (fading hope there!).

Oh sooo cute!

Good morning blogworld,

Hope a good weekend was had by all?  We had a very busy one! Sat I took SWMbO'd swimming and then out to play with some friends for which my reward was a trip to a craft fair on Sunday!

I'm not entirely sure whether the craft fair was as good as last year's organised by the same people - this one just seemed a little 'limp' and I was wayyyy under budget!  Hubby thinks that's a good thing - I think it just means I've got to go on-line to get what I want!

And I'm not going to mention the weather - everytime I say how wonderful it is, it rains!!

So we will move right onto business.  It's Tuesday so it's another challenge over at Papertake Weekly, this week the theme is 'Oh so cute' - as always the DT have made wonderfully inspiring projects and the prize is fab!

I made this:
Front shot:

Her close up:

I used:
Stamp:
The Greeting Farm - Anya Styles
coloured with Copics and paper pieced

Dies:
Go-Kreate - which I chopped in half

Papers:
My Mind's Eye - Paris & Co

Anything else?
Ribbons - from my box
Create and Craft - bling

I started the Hair and Skin class over at Kit and Clowder and I'm trying but I'm not over impressed with my hair colouring.  I'm still struggling with where the shadows and highlights should be.  More practice required me thinks!

So that's me off now to recover from my mornings exercise,

See you again soon,

Sarah

In stitches

Apologies blogworld - I'm running late!

Good evening all,

This post should've been up earlier this evening when the new challenge over at All Dressed Up challenge blog went live, but I forgot the date today and realised too late to put up my post!

Still better late than never - and here I am!

The challenge this time is 'Sewing - Faux or real', now you may recall me crowing sometime last year because I'd got a sewing machine and real stitches appeared on my cards.  Well, that was short lived and I've not stitched properly on my cards since.  I did try proper stitches for this card, but the machine wasn't playing ball and I'd left making the card so late, again!, that I didn't have time to play about.

So my stitching is faux, or as us commoners say - fake!, but you feel free to do real stitching.  I promise I'll be impressed!  As I am, impressed that is, by the cards my Teamies have made - pop on over to the blog to see - I'm sure you'll be impressed too!

This is my card:

I used:

Digi stamp:
All Dressed Up - All Wrapped Up
coloured with Copics

Dies:
Die-namics - Blueprints No.1 (for the strip of paper)

Paper:
Prima Marketing Inc - Annalee

Anything else?
Flat backed pearls
Craftwork Cards - sentiment

And that's it folks!  Please remember to join in with the challenge you must use an All Dressed Up product (image or paper) and follow the theme.  The challenge closes on the 2nd June and the winner will receive three digi images of their choice from the shop.

If you fancy a bit of crafty chat there's a very friendly FaceBook group which you are free to join - we don't bite promise!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and see you next week,

Sarah

A challenge or two:

Crafty Little Fairies: May - In the garden

The Paper Shelter: Challenge #158 - Girly Girl

Inky Chicks: Clean And Simple

I heard it on the radio

Good morning blogworld,

Ain't it wonderful how an ickle bit of sunshine perks up the old mind and body?  Been lovely, tho still a bit chilly here, yesterday and today looks no different!  According to the weather man we are set for a fine few days and weekend.

Not that I'll see much of it on Sunday - I'm off to the local Sincerely Yours papercraft show!  Give us a whoop then!!  Bit of a begger that they've moved slightly further away from me, but still what's an extra 30 mins when there's papercraft at the end of it!!!

Right and now I've got that jollity out of the system - onto business.

Today sees a new challenge over at MAWTT and this week our lovely boss lady Hazel's theme is 'I heard it on the radio' so - songs please: anything catchy is just what we are looking for.

There's a great prize on offer and this is my offering, based on ' In the summertime - Mungo Jerry' here's the link if you don't know it.  And yes it was out before I was born (only just!!!) but I don't care - I remember my parents listening to it and I don't object to listening to stuff from before I was born - it's some of the stuff in the charts now that I don't get!!!  Ooooh listen to me - I'm getting boring and middle aged - oh my word, noooo I'm becoming my parents. Run away and hide Sarah, quickly ;-)

It's a bit busier than my latest crop of card - but, somehow, I quite like it:

I used:

Stamp:
The Greeting Farm - Miss Anya; Rain Snow Shine
coloured with my Copics

Papers:
BoBunny - C'est La Vie

Wot no dies??!!

Anything else?
We Are Memory Keepers - chipboard embellies
bit of ribbon from me stuff

And that's it folks - apart from saying I'm looking forward to this challenge.  I loooove cheesy, happy songs so I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

See you soon,

Sarah

Deja vu - oh no!!

Good morning blogworld,

What an odd title, eh!  Reason being I've avoided colouring pastel tones for ages and now I've made two cards in two weeks that are pastels!  Do you think someone is trying to tell me to try harder, think outside the box, push the envelope, stretch myself - and so on, and so on??  Or maybe it's just a coincidence!

Which ever, it's Tuesday so that means it's a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly and, surprise, surprise - the challenge this week is Pretty Pastels!  There is a fab prize, as ever, and fabulous DT inspiration, as ever.

So this is my attempt (part deux) at pastel:

I used:

Digi image:
All Dressed Up - My best friend
hair and skin: Copics;
clothes puppy, shadow: Prismacolour pencils

Dies:
Die-namics - Blueprints 1

Paper:
My Mind's Eye - The sweetest thing: Lavender

Anything else?
Brad
Craftwork cards - sentiment

Again that's all folks - I'm away to lie down in a darkened room and get over my exercise class, my goodness my legs hurt!!!

See y'all soon,

Sarah

All bling-y here!

Good morning blogland,

Can you believe it, Monday's rolled around again!  Which means that it's a new challenge over at The Cutie Pies - this time our challenge is 'Bring on the bling' - so, along with the cutest image possible, we'd like to see a lot of bling on your creation.

We are sponsored this time, with a great prize, by the super cuteness that is:

The DT were very kindly allowed to pick an image to use and this is my card:

I used:

Digi stamp:

coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Nestie for the image

Paper:

Anything else?:
Create and Craft - gem flourish
sentiment - from my stuff

And that's about it folks - you're going to see me a lot this week, so I'm going to try and keep the waffle to a minimum!

Cheerio

Anything goes!

Good day blogworld,

So that would be over at Papertake Weekly for their new challenge - which I'm still having the pleasure of GDT'ing for.  Not in real life you understand, that would be worrying!!

So now that we've got that bit of waffle out of the way - sensible Sarah appears with details of this weeks' challenge.

As I said above the challenge is Anything Goes but with the added option of 'no patterned paper'. As always when that is thrown in, and when I'm short of time, I go for Clean and Simple.  There is fabulous inspiration, as always, from the ladies on the Design Team and a great prize on offer.

So here, you go - my card:

I used:

Stamp:
The Greeting Farm - Anya Celebrates
coloured with my Copics

Hearts border and sentiment - are stamps that have no name!

Anything else?
Bit of stickles glitter glue on the hearts

That's it really folks, for some reason I feel quite bleah today and am going to go and quietly colour to see if I can perk meself up!

See you soon,

Sarah

Oh no!!

Good morning blogworld,

Finally I'm slowly getting through my commenting - so you should see me popping up at some point soon on your blogs.  Taken me a long time though, hasn't it!!

Onto business - As today is Thursday and it's time for a new challenge over at MAWTT.  It's Team A's turn to provide the inspiration this week and the lovely Kelly is the hostess.  Kelly picked the theme of Pretty Pastels this week, ummm not something that I go to naturally, hence the 'oh no!' reaction!

Still I got there in the end and this is what I made:

Front shot:

Close up:

I used:

Stamp:
My Favorite Things - Birthday Balloon Jolinne
coloured with my Copics for the skin and Prismacolour pencils for the rest

Lili of the Valley - sentiment

Dies:
La-La Land banner

Papers:
Just a scrap from my box.

Anything else?
Just some string behind the balloons - I had a bit of a technical issue when cutting out!

Got a busy day today - going to get a cut and colour at the hairdressers this morning, taking SWMbO to her swimming lesson this evening.  Then we've got our first paying guests of the year in the holiday cottage on Friday - so got to get meself in cleaning mode and go tidy!

See you soon,

Sarah

A challenge, or two:
