Too late!

Hello blogworld

It's about typical of my life at the moment - I made a card to enter into a challenge, that ended on Sunday.  Look when I'm finally getting to blog it, talk about it being a bit late!

So I thought, seeing as I don't have a card to show now until my DT for the Sweeties on Saturday, I thought I'd share it and some waffle.

So card.

The arty farty:
 I used:

Mo Manning - Fairy Kiki
coloured with my Promarkers (chalks for the sky)

Dies:
Circular nesties

Papers:
Ahh, OK not quite sure on that one!  They came out of my scraps box.

Anything else?
Ribbon, trim and sentiment - all from my stuff and, in one case, about 5 years old!!

So what's the waffle then?  Well SHMbO is not sleeping well, she is complaining that her bed is too small.  She is 5 1/2 yrs, about 3 1/2 st and around 116cms (notice how I mix my measurements there - that's what comes from being at school when they kicked out imperial and brought in metric, I can't count in either!!) tall.  She is in a toddler bed (which was her cot then converted to a toddler bed) and complains that it's too small.  So for the last week she's been going to sleep far too late and going into mine and 'im indoors bed - then when we go up, she goes back!

Me and 'im indoors are talking about getting her a new bed - SHMbO wants a high sleeper or bunk beds - I don't.  Hmmm, I'm trying to persuade him into a shopping trip to Lincoln on Sunday - verrryyy hard work that!!!  He doesn't do shopping - at all, ever, in a million years (oh apart from food shopping, he does that with a list and extreme precision!).

We will see and I will not doubt tell you all about it!!

Hope everyone is well, and I am behind with commenting, when am I not!  Hopefully blog hopping time at the weekend,

Cheerio
Sarah

A challenge, or two:

In the pink: Challenge #12 - distressed.  Oh-ho, skin of teeth, ladies, skin of teeth!!

Fairies, Fairies, everywhere!

Hello blogworld

Do you ever find that you start making one type of card and you end up making a run of them?  You may remember that I made a new baby card for a friend (who is still waiting for baby to put in an appearance by the way) I then needed an extra boy one as another one of my friends, we are both friends with the same girl, asked for one of my cards to give when baby arrives.

Luckily I had an unexpected, but not unappreciated afternoon, on my own to make the cards.  Grandad is staying with us for the weekend (father-in-law) and there has been a little trip out to a scale railway which did not include me!  I asked Emily if she'd like to go with just Daddy and Grandad - and she said yes!!  I was most surprised but happy that she was willing to go without me, but it's lovely that she is is getting 'Daddy time'!

So I used the time most wisely and, along with watching last nights Dr Who, hoovering, doing the dishes, bleaching the sink and bringing in the washing I made another two baby cards.

This means I have two baby fairies to show today - one girl, one boy.

Baby girl card:

Baby boy card:

Details on cards:
They both use Stampavie: Mo Manning - Fairy Kiki (it's probably meant to be a little girl, but I thought for babies it doesn't really matter).
Coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers, with a touch of glitter on the wings.
Both die-cut with nesties.
For the baby girl card I used Prima Marketing - Sparking Spring Collection papers.
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Card blank and sentiment from Craftwork Cards
For the baby boy card I used First Edition - Up, Up & Away papers.
Sentiment is an Elzybells stamp.
Buttons, ribbon and fluff all from my boxes.
Craftwork cards blanks.

Hopefully I should be back tomorrow with another card - one of Emily's little friends has now come down with Chicken Pox, so got to do her a get well card.  If I don't make it tomorrow it will be Tuesday.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and be back soon.

Sarah

A challenge for me!

Hello bloggy friends

Just to prove that I'm still here and not swanned off to pastures new I'm going to share a card with you!  A card, I hear you cry, never where did you find the time!  Here and there over the last few days I snuck in cardmaking! I've actually been sneaking in a fair bit of cardmaking because as well as this card I needed a birthday card for today, two cards for next Tuesday and then there are three off to school cards I've to make before next Friday.  Phew, look at that list - I really am going to have to work hard to get those out.

Anyway here is the card I made over the last couple of days.  A Challenge in more ways than one - finding the time, an A4 card and deciding what to do!

The image is a Mo Manning digi stamp - Bunches, re-sized to suit the size of the card, coloured with my Prismas and (surprise, surprise!) a bit of stickles for glitterficiation.
I inked the edges of the image with a Distress Ink pad, mounted onto patterned paper then pearl card then onto a Martha Stewart punched piece of pearl card.
The papers were free with a magazine and the sentiment printed on the computer then cut with a Shapeabilities. (Think I've gone haywire with the spelling there).

So this is just a quick post as I've got all those cards to make, am trying to keep up with everyone's blogs but apologies if I've not been commenting as much - it's due to lack of time not lack of enthusiasm.  Things will return to normal in two weeks when 'big school' starts - I'm already stocking up on the tissues for the crying I know I'm going to do.

Keep well,
Cheerio,

Sarah

Divas by Design - first challenge

Here we are 4th May and the Divas by Design challenge blog is open!  My first ever Design Team posting, I am just so pleased that I made the Design Team and a huge thank you to Rebekah and Jo for picking me to be part of their Team.  Thank you so much.

This first challenge is Anything Goes and is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads

So without any further ado, my card:

The image is Mo Manning, for Stamping Bella - Diva (appropriate I thought) and coloured with Prismacolour pencils.  The papers are all Basic Grey - Stella Ruby collection and the punch is a Martha Stewart one.  The sentiment I printed off the computer.  Unfortunately I can't remember where the flower came from, I have a few (hmm, more like a dozen!) boxes of flowers and this came out of one of them!

Hope you like and would love you to take a look at the challenge, even better why not enter it - you really have to be in it to win it!
